Over the past decade I have written hundreds of pieces in various genres. It took a few years to discover that my true talent was best channeled through creative copywriting. Before discovering this, I was frustrated with the creation of short stories...how I wanted to be the next Keats or Jane Austen. I tried my hand at mysteries, perhaps I could be the next Tami Hoag......the queen of mystery novels. Alas, I was destined to be something else, perhaps I will not be a world famous writer, but my creativity would not be wasted; merely redirected.

Today I accept that I am not a famous writer, at least not among the literary crowd. I have however, become the go to gal for creative copy - and that's not too shabby. Small business owners and my fellow solopreneurs have given me some great opportunities to allow my creative juices to flow.

You will see some links to the right. The "past publications" link will bring you to an old site created many moons ago when I was experimenting in many forms of writing. You will find copywriting, research documents and more. As a writer, one of my most important skills is research. Research is a valuable skill and I had opportunities to develop my skills as a researcher through projects for John Hopkins and the United Nations. I have researched some interesting topics, and written research documents and white papers on everything from cancer to health informatics to preventable diseases in Africa. As I said before though, I need to be creative! So it was inevitable that I would enter the world of creative copywriting.

My clients have asked me to write copy for their websites, direct mail marketing materials, online ads, brochures, presentations, the list goes on and on. Please don't think I am tooting my own horn (okay maybe a little), I am just trying to paint an accurate picture of my abilities.

Over the past couple of years, my clients have requested product creation which truly allows my creative side to soar! This is the area I love to work in – creating ebooks, ecourses, teleseminar and podcast scripts and much more. This is a very valuable service as it provides clients with products for their marketing funnel; resulting in an increased and consistent stream of revenue.

After being in this business for some time, I have found that many businesses and solopreneurs have benefited from my creative ideas, not just my writing. It is for this reason that I also offer business consulting. This is not an actual service; consider it a perk of working with me. Let me briefly explain....

I tend to work with start-up businesses, or businesses that need an overhaul. These businesses simply need a little flare, something to make them unique. As many friends and colleagues will confirm, I tend to speak my mind and when I see a possible solution, I feel the need to say it. So I will make suggestions to clients; I tell them what I think will boost their business. These suggestions often involve creative copy, social marketing and creating publicity through special events.
